빙고 Bingo ~ Jongno-gu

빙고 Bingo is a quaint patbingsu cafe which we came across while wandering about the Bukchon Hanok Village area.

There's only one person managing the small cafe of 6 tables. The capacity is probably about 30 people at one go.

A small menu for a small cafe. We ordered a green tea sherbet to share, 2 cappuccinos and a macchiato.

There are instructions on the wall asking you to try the ice without the red bean first then to gradually mix in the red bean.

The green tea ice is not only on the top but is layered in between the big bowl. The ice was shaved so finely it was like eating snow! The green tea flavor was strong but it was not too bitter nor too sweet.

We actually preferred the shaved ice and the red bean mixed together. The red bean was fragrant and was a perfect match to the green tea patbingsu.

The cappuccino had a sprinkle of cinnamon while the macchiato had a drizzle of caramel. I found the caramel a bit too strong so half-way I added some hot water from the water dispenser. Oh, did I mention that all Korean restaurants have a free flow of water? You save a lot on drinks that way.

A Korean review page of Bingo is available here and if you have internet access with you while in Korea, they're located at 75-3 Yulgok-ro 3-gil, Jongno-gu. When you see Artisee Cafe Deli, you'll see Bingo's bunting pointing to the little lane right next to it.
