Our intention to visit a newly opened cafe in the vicinity was foiled as it was lunch time and the place, bursting with people (and dogs hint hint). However, we chanced upon BreadFruits, a cafe advocating healthy food and we were keen for something different due to our entire week of food indulgences (LC had lots of good food because a family member was back from overseas while I so happen ate at many different restaurants/cafes in the same week).
Don't be underwhelmed by this rather small cafe. It seats up to probably 40-50 pax at one seating and was constantly full while we were there. The high turnover rate was an indicator of good food for us.
I ordered a juice mixture of strawberry, banana, orange and another fruit which I don't remember. I really enjoyed this lovely mix of sweet and sour plus the creamy texture from the banana. Not to mention, the freshness and purity of it all would have put commercial juice bars to shame.
LC had a Passion Fruit with Wild Honey and his first reaction was 'Oh you'll like this'. Indeed I did. The passion fruit pulp was sweet and when paired with the exotic tasting wild honey, it was refreshingly good.
We both picked breakfasty dishes and my pick was a Bacon mushroom cheese omelette with sourdough and arugula. All the goodies hidden in the omelette were well-seasoned and tasted fresh with the tomato relish. I only wish there was more cheese.
LC's Roasted Banana Bacon French Toast with Passion Wild Honey was a sight to behold. Look at how pretty it looks!
Banana, bacon and passion fruit honey seems like a rather odd combination but this best seller turned out to be a delicious combination of sweet, sour and salty.
