Isaac Toast ~ Chebu-dong (Gyeongbokgung station Exit 2)

Isaac Toast was a 'by-the-way' kind of meal because we decided against joining tbe Tosokchon samgyetang queue but wanted something to eat before visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace.

I didn't have Isaac Toast during my last trip in 2015 so this was a new thing for me. The branch we visited was just outside Exit 2 of Gyeongbokgung station. You'll see it after you pass Paris Baguette. The address for this branch is 47-1 Chebu-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.

It's a small branch with only a capacity of 4 tables, fitting up to 12 people at one go but it was bustling. People would just drop in to takeaway their toast.

We had 3 orders - Bacon Best, Ham & Cheese and the Steak Ham VIP. The varieties sound really fancy but it was a out of this world marketing versus a rather lame product situation for us.

Even in Korea, you can be fooled by marketing.

There was more cabbage than meat in the Bacon Best and there was really very little bacon in it. I felt pretty cheated by the nice poster.

The ham in the Steak Ham VIP was a really pathetic slice but it was a little more satisfying than the Bacon Best. The Ham & Cheese was probably the most worth the money of the lot as it came with eggs unlike its name.

I wouldn't eat this again despite it's popularity and I'd rather have aomething cheap and tasty from the supermarket deli or the kombini than pay for overpriced toast and being duped by marketing!
