Rated one of the best, if not the best shredded chicken hor fun by locals and tourists alike, a meal at Moon de Moon is a journey that one must partake at least once as the destination is worth it.
It's recommended to be here as early as possible or risk a 30 minute wait or longer. Arriving at about 9.30am granted me a 30 minute wait before the first dish arrived. Moon de Moon is a kopitiam and the chicken hor fun stall serves dry chicken curry hor fun as well as liu, fish paste stuffed ingredients and fish balls.
The dry curry was first to arrive and it was outstanding. The thick, rich and creamy curry coated the super smooth hor fun so well that it got me excited to eat the next dish.
Flavors are punchy and kaw here and the shredded chicken hor fun was no different. The prawn flavored oil all but covered the surface of the bowl and the soup is almost opaque for a dish meant to be a clear soup.
The broth was thick and tasted mainly of prawn, so good till the last drop. The hor fun needs no introduction at this point. These 2 ingredients are clearly the star of the show and the rest of the noodle toppings just pale in comparison.
The bowl of mixed liu was good, I would recommend ordering it too to share because we all know to leave stomach space for the main event.
